Family Mental Health Support Service for children, young people and families who are refugees or humanitarian entrants
We provide tailored support to children and young people aged 0 to 18 years who are from a refugee background and who have been living in Australia for less than five years, by working closely with key settlement and multicultural services in the local community to provide culturally appropriate support for young people and their families. We also offer individually tailored support for newly arrived children and young people who are struggling with the challenges of settlement, family and social difficulties, relationships, anxiety, depression, anger and trauma-related symptoms. 'Multi-Cultural Mental Health' training
All team members participate in cultural capacity building workshops delivered by Transcultural Mental Health, which focus on developing key skills to effectively engage with our culturally and linguistically diverse patients, partners and community, particularly in the area of mental health.
