Reconciliation Action Plan
Our Reconciliation Action Plan is currently in development, in consultation with our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community.
United Health Education Learning Program (UHELP)
Our UHELP initative saw our headspace Inala team partner with the local Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Program (SPAMHP), Inala Elders and the Australian Institude for Suicide Research and Prevention to develop, deliver and evaluate a targeted program which aimed to engage young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in need of mental health intervention, by drawing on established relationships and a culturally valid and appropriate system of care. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid
We deliver Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid, to support support workers, health providers, educators and members of the community with the knowledge and confidence to assist an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander adult who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Any upcoming workshops will be on our Events page, but if you'd like to enquire about holding a workshop for your team, please contact us.
Cultural Capacity Building training
All team members participate in cultural capacity building workshops delivered by Marumali Consultations, which focus on developing key skills to effectively engage with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, partners and community, particularly in the area of mental health.
