Free mental health support for children and young people.
The Accoras Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program provides free mental health support for children and young people (7 to 17 years) in the Logan-Beaudesert region with, or at risk of, complex mental illness.
The program provides clinical and non-clinical brief intervention helping to build life skills, regulate emotions, and improve functional capacity and resilience for those who have needs too complex for primary care, but not severe enough for tertiary support.
The Accoras team has worked with Brisbane South Primary Health Network, along with additional health and community partners to create this program, the first of its kind in Australia.
This is more than a program, or a model. Its impact reaches far beyond statistics or numbers. It touches the lives of children, young people along with their families and communities.
