Rosie*, a single mother of one, had only completed year 7, and was having to raise her daughter with limited support. Admirably, Rosie had dreams of more.
Goals & Challenges
She dreamt of financial independence, and working in the beauty industry, regardless of previously not receiving a higher education. But getting into the right courses was too expensive without help.
What Accoras did
Our Accoras case coordinator worked with Rosie to identify what she needed to progress in terms of enrolment and tools of the trade like a therapy bed, massage stones and warmers, plus paying enrolment & tuition fees, which was covered by Accoras accessing the Participation Funds. She was then able to embark on a Dual Diploma in Beauty, and Diploma Screen and Media, which she has now completed.
They also paid for the repair of her phone so she could take phone calls about interviews – it’s the simple things that allow people to take next steps.
The outcome
Here’s what’s really important – she now works at a leading multi-location spa business, with a brighter future ahead.
