MOBBOOST

Making future footprints.

MobBOOST

MobBOOST is a new Indigenous Skills and Employment Program (ISEP) being delivered by Accoras in partnership with the Inala Elders, designed to increase economic and employment opportunities for First Nations people.

This is a targeted approach, working with the strengths of local First Nation communities and employers, and connecting First Nations people to jobs, skills improvements, and career advancement opportunities.

It’s all about complementing community services, and leveraging relationships, and is based on partnerships.

Partnerships between providers and community, partnerships between local businesses and potential employees.

Our goals are to:

  • Provide foundational and job-specific skills

  • Address local barriers to employment to place employees

  • Build and sustain long term, meaningful employment in culturally safe workplaces

  • Identify, advance and transition career pathways for aspiring participants.

We will be working with business partners in the following industries:

  • Health Care
  • Community and Social Services

  • Retail

  • Hospitality

  • Manufacturing

  • Renewable Energy

  • Childcare

  • Warehouse, and

  • Construction

MobBOOST is broken into 3 segments, based on age:

YOUTH

  • The activity for this segment is focused on people aged 15 – 25, helping to develop pathways to employment through education and training, including traineeships and apprenticeships.
  • Young jobseekers will have access to intensive mentoring with our Employment Specialist.

  • Our team will work with schools to identify those students who are like to access MobBOOST, to source feedback about their employers of choice, and develop those relationships.

  • We are also partnering with Inala Elders and Volunteering Queensland to discover volunteering opportunities for local First Nations young people to support young jobseekers as mentors.

ADULTS

  • Adults aged between 26 – 49 will be able to develop pathways to employment through enhancing their work history, their specific skills and relevant experience.
  • Initially, the support will aim to assist adults to quickly enter or go back to the workforce, to build experience and income.

  • From there, the priority will be up-skilling, re-skilling and formalisation of qualifications.

SENIORS

  • For those aged between 50 and 64, our Seniors, the pathways will have an emphasis on part-time roles with minimal physical demands via leveraging their employment history.
  • Strong links will be established with volunteer initiatives, particularly those serving the First Nations community.
