Kindness, love of learning and hope are in Zarinah’s top five signature strengths. She is an experienced Psychologist and Counsellor with over 20 years of experience in providing counselling support to adolescents (aged 15+) and adults. Her areas of practice include Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and schema work. Her interest areas are anxiety, adjustment difficulties, self-confidence, self-compassion, body image, goal setting, motivation, psychological resilience, values identification and goal setting. Zarinah has experience working with adolescents and adults from a range of ages and cultural backgrounds, her approach is culturally sensitive approach and neurodivergent affirming. She also works extensively with university students and has successfully developed and facilitated group based programs and workshops in the areas of body image, confidence, brain neuroplasticity, resilience building, self-compassion. She currently facilitates a confidence program based on the use of signature strengths. Zarinah believes in the ability of each person to achieve their goals and live a values guided life, and she appreciates the privilege of being part of someone’s support team. She is warm, passionate, determined and optimistic, and will provide you with a safe space in which you can explore your difficulties and set goals for the future. She is a Board Approved Supervisor who has an interest in compassionate leadership, and she has recently been a Woman of Colour Australia mentor. She is of Muslim faith. In the time outside the counselling room she enjoys searching for good coffee, road trips, live music, exploring great weekend markets and spending time with the cat.
