Lauren provides therapy to adults. Her special interest areas include anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorders, individuals struggling with self-compassion and feelings of shame and those diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Lauren is passionate about assisting individuals to improve their quality of life and develop a closer relationship to themselves, others and the world around them. Lauren feels privileged to work with clients and would love at the end of sessions together for clients to have more compassion and acceptance of themselves and their human struggles, feel more connected to people they care about and obtain strategies for managing painful thoughts and emotions in order to lead rich and meaningful lives. Lauren has a sense of humour and where appropriate loves to bring this into sessions, having a laugh and relating to struggles we have as human beings. Lauren believes everyone is doing their best at the time with the resources they have and strives to create an environment where people can express vulnerabilities freely without judgement and recognise their self-worth. Lauren draws on a range of evidence based therapies tailored to an individual’s goals, interests and previous experiences, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.
In her outside life, you will find Lauren at sporting events for her son, out in nature, camping, engaging in something creative, or catching up with family and friends.
Lauren is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience. Lauren completed a Bachelor of Psychology Degree with First Class Honours at Griffith University. Lauren received a University Medal for Psychology, obtained for achieving high excellence over the four-year psychology degree. She also received an Academic Achievement of Excellence Award for each year, awarded to students who have a cumulative career GPA of at least 6.0 and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, received for being in the top 15% of her class. Lauren then completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology at Queensland University of Technology, before then obtaining her Clinical endorsement.
