Rachel

Accoras Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP)
Rachel is 13 years old and was referred to the Accoras CPSP by her school’s Guidance Officer, who had concerns about her lack of self-esteem and confidence, difficult family relationships, feelings of overwhelm and trouble sleeping. Rachel’s teachers were also worried – her grades were falling, and she was missing due dates for homework and assignments.

Alex

Accoras Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP)
Alex is a non-binary 16-year-old who was referred to the Accoras CPSP by CYMHS for support to address their significant social isolation, limited self-care, intense anxiety and overwhelming feelings of hopelessness. At the time of referral, Alex was not attending school, not taking their prescribed anti-depressants, was only leaving their bedroom for meals and was barely speaking to anyone, including their family.

Kayla

headspace Inala
Kayla had a complex history including homelessness, sexual assault, disordered eating, domestic and family violence and self-harm. She was isolated from her peers and community and had an unstable living environment. Kayla was experiencing significant depressive and anxiety symptoms and was experiencing ‘system fatigue’.

Accoras Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP)
John was referred to CPSP by his school for support with his behaviour and peer relationships. He had been suspended from school several times and was only attending part-time. John has experienced bullying and has become physical with peers when feeling angry or frustrated.

Ben

Accoras Commonwealth Psychsocial Support Program (CPSP)
Ben’s primary presenting concerns were around anxiety, low mood, anger (mostly expressed physically), suicidality & lack of engagement with education. Ben had experienced historical trauma from the passing of his Grandfather, his brother’s suicide attempt and domestic and family violence perpetrated by his father.

Cooper

headspace work & study Inala / IPS
Cooper believed himself to be worthless and undeserving of a job, and was lacking in confidence and direction. He placed enormous pressure onto himself to get into university, find a job and establish a career, and was very hard on himself if he made a mistake. His Vocational Specialist observed Cooper to be a kind and thoughtful person who always pushed himself to improve.

Taleah and Rosie

Accoras Commonwealth Psychsocial Support Program (CPSP)
Taleah and Rosie are sisters who live with their mother. They attend their local primary school, who referred them to Accoras for support. The girls had been exposed to domestic and family violence at home, perpetrated by their father. Taleah and Rosie were having emotional and angry outbursts and experiencing difficulties in relationships with their peers.”

Zala

Settlement, Engagement and Transition Support (SETS)
Zala is a young Ethopian woman living in Australia on a refugee visa with her husband and two children. Zala engaged with the Accoras Settlement and Engagement Transition Support (SETS) program through their connection with the Adult Migrant English Program at Southbank TAFE. She was experiencing mental health difficulties and had a child with significant developmental delays.
