Accoras is funded by the Department of Social Services to deliver the WayUP program, providing support across the Logan-Beaudesert region to young people aged 12 to 18 years who are experiencing difficulties like social isolation, disengagement from school, challenges in peer and family relationships or disconnection from their culture or community.

To be eligible for our program, young people must either be:

  • Currently stepping down from or being closed by a mental health support service (or this has recently occurred) OR

  • Currently or potentially at risk of disengagement, marginalisation and/or limited engagement with training and/or education.

Young people must also:

  • Be aged 12 to 18 years inclusive;

  • Be living in the Logan-Beaudesert region (the Logan-Beaudesert SA4);

  • Be willing to actively engage with youth work support; and

  • Have the support of an adult if aged 14 years or younger.

We provide a range of flexible and holistic youth work support for young people, via an outreach model in their home, school or community.

We can help by delivering holistic youth work and goal-oriented case management support to help young people to:

  • Be more connected to their family, peers, school, culture and community;

  • Enhance their self-confidence, wellbeing and resilience;

  • Improve their engagement with education, employment and/or training activities;

  • Build their awareness and understanding of community and other services available for support.

Where appropriate, we also provide support to families and carers of young people, to build their knowledge and understanding of the needs of their young person and how to best support them.

We have full access to free interpreting services to support our engagement with young people and families who speak languages other than English.
